How to get Ombre Lips!
Ombré is everywhere — ombré eyes, hair, and even ombré nails which I love doing :)
But what exactly is ombré? And can you do it to your lips? Ombré is French for an effect with a gradual colour transition from light to dark; for example, with hair, when the ends are deliberately lighter than the roots. And yes, you can do it to your lips. In fact, above are my ombre lips which I had many comments this week and some people already got inspired and created their own ombre lips and tweeted me pictures!
Use two or more contrasting colours that are in the same family! And start with the darkest shade first, then using your lightest shade slightly over lip with your finger or straight from the lipstick itself, take your finger, blending the lighter colour into the darker one, be careful to leave the edges darker than the middle- the key to this look is about blending!
Karla’s Top Tip: It’s better to use fairly opaque lip colours for this effect because you want to get enough coverage both with the first dark layer, and then again with the light layer on top.
Enjoy!
