Betsey Johnson Spring/Summer 2013 Makeup  with Maybelline …

There was a lot of naughty and nothing nice about this playful line from Betsey at her final show/Birthday bash!

The make-up by key make-up artist Gato created a dramatic, very pop art look which featured a cat eye, strong over the top brows using Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Liquid Ink Pen Eyeliner in Black which was used to draw on both the brows and the eyes for a very “big” theatrical eye look. Close up there was dramatic splashes of colour in the eye design using Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow in Too Cool and Audacious Asphalt: Gato mixed these two shades to create a dramatic silver that went in the inner and (way!) outer corners of the eye, then painting a yellow pigment in the centre. It kind of reminded me of a cartoon character!

Finally the eyes were finished off with Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara by Volum’ Express: Gato applied “thousands of layers” of this volume-building mascara over false lashes to bring the eye look to “Defcon 5.”

Color Sensational Lip Color in Very Cherry:  Gato chose this striking red hue to bring some iconic Betsey drama to the lips, applying a fine red glitter on top with a brush.

For the final touch came a dramatic blue diamond mole.

For nails lead manicurist Gina Edwards with ImPress Press-On Manicure rounded about 300 nails to prepare for the Betsey Johnson showcase. Every model got a set of the medium-length nails, topped with two coats of ruby glitter polish. This matched the lips perfectly!
