Make-up Test for Paris - Look 2
I am off to France tomorrow doing hair, make-up and nails for photographer Luke Woodford’s next Abandoned Fashion Project. This time we are shooting in Paris. With an amazing team, including other creatives in my industry who have the chance to assist me and Luke and to experience one of Luke’s Abandoned Projects take place. Two make-up artists who applied to assist me will also be coming along that I ran on my blog not long ago where you had to the chance to come along (In which I had over 100 people apply)!
The above make-up look I practiced on myself last night for one of the make-up looks I will be creating on Sunday. Me and Luke have been planning the mood boards, concept and designers we will be working with over the last few weeks. The inspiration for the make-up look is ‘Parisian Painted Lady’, who haunts the streets of Paris and was burnt alive in 1940s. I guess all will be revealed when the final images are released.
When Luke told me about the concept I wanted to create an illusion of the model looking like a painting, and I knew with face paints, the right placement of shading and highlights I could create a painted look with just make-up. I would say after I created my Pop Art look it inspired me to believe in my ability as a make-up artist to create anything you really put your mind too, especially as I get all the amazing encouragement of my followers who also believe in my work. My main make-up inspiration for this look comes from a super talented artist Alex Meade. She creates illusions of people as paintings! Check out her work on Facebook!
