How to make Snow Queen Lashes by Karla Powell
1. Paint cheap lashes in a white base. I used Kryolan Shimmering Event Foundation in ‘Pearl’
 2. Using Syntho SS011 CrownbrushBrush apply a loose powder base evenly to add a shine and set the base of the lashes with Kryolan in Living Color Pigment in ‘Rosé Quartz’.
 3. Using Sprit gum loosely as a sticky base, gently layer over the lashes and add Lime Crime Zodiac Glitter ‘Virgo’ to the tips of the lashes (this acts as a snow effect) Finish off with sprinkle of Kryolan Polyester Glimmer in ‘Pearl Lilac’.
 4. Finally with more spirit gum applied in random areas of the lashes , sprinkle Nail Art Beads & Large glitter pieces (both from an art shop!) over the lashes!
Hope you are inspired! Please tag me f you try and re create them.

Hand Made Snow Queen of Sweets False Lashes!

Spending this last week getting prepared for my Snow Queen of Sweets Make-up look I am demonstrating at IMATS Sunday on the Crownbrush stand. Loved getting creative and make these lashes using Large Glitter, Nail Beads and Fine Glitter dust from Kryolan!

You should give it a go and get creative with making your own lashes!

*These are not MAC Lashes. I just used the box from an old set of MAC lashes. Just using it to keep them safe. The lashes as a base to make my own lashes are from Savers, England! Super cheap and cost me £2 ;)

Liquid Sugar from Eye Kandy Cosmetics is magic!

Eye Kandy is a brand new company that sells glitter and mineral cosmetics, and one thing that got me excited was their liquid adhesive base, ‘Liquid Sugar’.

The Liquid glitter is designed to hold glitter, mineral and loose powders on all day and giving the illusion of a second skin glitter effect. They have over 85 glitter and mineral shadows in the range.

How to use Liquid Sugar:

*Liquid Sugar is a water based sealer that bonds glitter, metallic’s and loose powders to your eyelids, lips or any other skin surface. This product is safe for sensitive skin and contact lenses.

*Gently squeeze a small amount of liquid into lid or a makeup palette. Dip your brush into the Liquid Sugar apply over the surrounding skin area and start layer the glitter on the liquid this will then take 30-60 seconds to air dry depending on how thickly it is applied and washes off easily with soap and water.

Above is the starter kit from their range which I have loved reviewing, and I am so impressed with the liquid sugar especially when creating different lip looks with pigments. Eye Kandy Cosmetics have kindly gave my followers 30% off any orders on everything when they shop online to www.eyekandycosmetics.co.uk (UK only) . Enter the code PROF30 at checkout.

Happy shopping!

Glamour Summer Nails…

With the sun starting to shine in England I finally believe we might have a nice summer and what better way to celebrate that by adding a sparkly glam look to my nails with some of my favourite nail varnishes in my collection using Illamasqua’s ‘Harem’ from The Broken Heart collection and Models Own NEW Artstix Duo polish using the glitter section from the duo polish in shade ‘Blizzard’.

I applied Harem to the base of the nails which is a very blue-based pink crème.  Like a bubble-gum pink with a twist with lavender-tone when applied it’s neither too thick nor too thin, and flows over the nail easily.

This is a real fun combination and would be perfect on both the fingers and toes in summer, but instead of applying ‘Blizzard’ over the entire nail base colour I decided to try out applying it to just the tips. You only need one coat, meaning this was a super quick manicure. Just really girly, summery and glam!

Hope you are inspired.

NEW OCC Vegan Lip Tar ‘Sci Fi Lullabies’

The new 10ml collection of Lip Tars from OCC Make-up comes in shades featuring both metallic and satin finishes for spring 2013 Colour Collection

I am a massive fan of OCC Lip tars and have been using them for years in my make-up kit.  They go on slick and moist, and then dries down to a satin finish and the pigment is like no other- perfect for close up photography work and they mix so well to custom create colours and also I use them as blush or a highlighter. They are multi-use and if you get creative with them, the possibility with looks and colours are endless.so you can customise yourself a brand new lipstick!

OCC is still a line I do admire.  Their decision to be vegan and cruelty free hasn’t hampered their ability to come out with a varied range of products from concealers, airbrush makeup, tinted moisturisers, glitters, lip tars, etc. I just love their wide spectrum of lip colours in the OCC lip tar range.

The Sci Fi Lullabies come in six colours with one of them (Power Plant) only available in Sephora. My two favourite colours are Batty(Black) and Lovecraft (Pink) I love that the pigment in both are still amazingly strong with a slight tint of glitter- this catches the light beautifully when photographed giving more of an impact to a glossy effect before the product dries out on the lips.

OCC Sci Fi Lullabies can be purchased from www.cutecosmetics.co.uk  at £11.95 each in the UK and Internationally on www.occmakeup.com
