Many of you will know I am a big fan of Kryolan so anything new and exciting they bring out I am straight their testing the products, and like always they never disappoint me. Their newest product Lip N’ Cheek is a multi-purpose product available in 11 shades, from beautiful nudes to bolder hues, they all create a soft subtle hint of colour to the cheeks, lips and even eyes! It is also water resistant, making it ideal for hot days, oilier skin and for waterproof locations when working on set.
Packaged similar to a lip gloss, with an angled applicator for ease of use, you get 10ml of product in each tube which is packaged in their new design and logo- ‘Make-up is a science’. The formula is smooth enough to easily blend using fingers onto the cheek area, yet applies precisely to instantly stain the lip area, I also love to use my Syntho brushes from Crownbrush to apply for a smooth even application, however you only really need to use your fingers as it blends effortlessly without any tools.
My favourite shade out of all these three has to be Lotus! It’s such a beautiful pink girly shade which I think will be one of their best sellers as it pretty much matches most skin tones.

My Make-up Entry for Kryolan Official Cover Look Competition! Have you entered?
Kryolan are currently running a competition which is seen on their Facebook page to give one lucky make-up artist the chance to create the cover look for Kryolan’s make up international magazine. The premium glossy publication is produced by Kryolan to inspire make-up artist’s worldwide, featuring breaking news about upcoming trends, products, techniques and artists. Each issue is distributed to 30,000 make-up industry insiders.
With this opportunity we are celebrating individual talent and signature looks. From natural to avant garde, inspiring to thrilling, they want to see and feature the very best of your extraordinary ideas, creative techniques and outstanding looks using Kryolan products; the image must be a beauty look and a close-up shot of the face.
To be in with a chance to have your work featured on the front cover of make up international, published by Kryolan here are the rules:
- An image of a make-up look that best represents your work and style - Kryolan products must have been used to achieve the look.
- The photograph needs to be a close-up of the face and of print quality, so high-resolution, no less than 300 dpi please.
- A paragraph describing the look, your inspirations, techniques you used to achieve it, why you love it and which Kryolan products you have used to achieve it.
- Your contact details, Twitter & Instagram names and your web address (where relevant).
- Please note, that by sending us your work, you are giving us full usage rights to publish the image within and on the front cover of the make up international publication.
- You are responsible for organizing any relevant usage agreements with corresponding photographers, stylists and other third parties involved in creating the shot (NB. they can be credited on request).
- You are also agreeing to allow us to share your shot on Kryolan social networks throughout the competition period. We will not divulge details about your techniques and what products you used etc, but if we do use your picture we will credit you.

Charles Fox have recently worked on their Covent Garden London Store In line with their company rebranding, “Make-up Is A Science” with Kryolan Official.
The store has undertaken an extensive refurbishment to improve their service and facilities, along with innovative products, for all make-up artists and beauty lovers. I have been a huge fan of Charles Fox and Kryolan for many years and is my one stop to purchase all my professional brands- especially Kryolan, so I was super excited to see the new store look so beautiful and I wanted to share it to my followers!
Due to me recently working away in Egypt on a music video with Violina who have collaborated with Birgit Oigemeel on the music video which was filmed on luxury yacht along the Red Sea Egypt- so this involved lots of heat, water, sweat and many scenes being filmed in and out of the sea. So lucky for me after getting lots of tips of other well-known make-up artists such as Jos Brands and from The Charles Fox team on ‘how to’ to use makeup underwater with the right brands.
Key Points:

*Contouring and highlighting
*If using false lashes make sure they are natural hair
Kryolan Dermacolor DC Camouflage Cream Palettes– which comes in 24 colours in order to contour highlight and match the models skin tones, it’s a highly pigmented foundation which needs to be activated to blend effortless on the skin, I used Kryolan NEW make-up blend and then fixed using Derma Color Fixing Powder and Fixing Spray it will be waterproof and protects the skin against damaging UV radiation. DC Camouflage could last even under extreme conditions like swimming, heat and physical strain. Dermacolor Camouflage Cream is available in an extensive range of shades and those are intermixable which gives the make-up a natural appearance when applied correctly.
Adding colour:
My favorite brand and palettes to use is Kryolan and three palettes I did everything I needed out in Egypt were the Metallique metallic pigments, Shimmering Vision palette, Interferenz grease paint paletteand the Neat Kit lipstick setand all these are excellent for layering up and can all be used on eyes, cheeks and lips, It stays on and gives excellent colour payoff- Any oil based products won’t move underwater. If you want to use Mascara then do use a waterproof one, however from experience this has been known to smudge so you can eyelash tint before the shoot. Finally a great eyeliner to try for underwater shoot is Make-up Forever AQUA LINER- High Precision Waterproof Eyeliner. Also keep with natural hair false lashes. Sometimes water on synthetic lashes will change the shape of the lashes (think about when your eyes water/cry- Have your false lashes ever changed shape? If you experienced that , then you will know why to keep with natural hair)
Remover:
Finally to remove greasepaint/waterproof makeup you will need to use and oil based remover to break down and gently dissolve the makeup. I always use Kryolan’s Hydro Makeup remover oil. It is hydrophilic cleansing oil which will remove all cream and grease make-up. Massage into the skin and rinse with warm water, the model can do this in the shower.

As many of you know I was very lucky to go to Berlin a few months back to meet the Kryolan family at the factory based in Berlin. This was a chance to meet the staff behind Kryolan and to see their reveal of the New look, feel and strap line on the NEW Kryolan re branding- Make-up Is A Science before anyone else. I also seen the Kryolan products being made in the factory where you can see all the trip on this >link< where I filmed it.

Hardwearing and chip-resistant, the new nail polish from Kryolan come in a range of vibrant shade for the most imaginative of creations. For a perfect finish use Kryolan Base Coat. For a matte effect, use Kryolan Nail Top Coat.
Eye Shadow Primer & Make-up Blend
A brand new and improved formulation for any eye shadow eye primer. Allows flawless blending and enhances durability. And make-up blend is a liquid to smoothen or dilute any cream make-up, from foundation to lipsticks. Just add 1-2 drops, mix and apply to the face or body- this is the best product I have come across in a long time! You need to play and discover what it does by yourself.
Lipstick LC334 –
I loved this shade in Berlin and I also got to see it being made. It’s a striking & fashionable neon colour, but more sheer than other Kryolan lipstick colours. I am also a little gutted they didn’t name the shade! :( It’s just a number…

This experience with Kryolan has been very special to me to learn the science behind makeup and the history of Kryolan. I am now excited to start using all my new products on upcoming events and photoshoots.
