Jean-Pierre Braganza’s autumn/winter 2013 A bit Gothy, a bit Gorgeous!- LFW

Time for London Fashion week beauty trends now I am loving!

The makeup was just stunning - a glamorous gothic-inspired look created by MAC Cosmetics’ Terry Barber!  Describing the look as ‘a bit gothy, a bit gorgeous’, Terry explained that his use of metallic shades on the eyes came straight from Jean-Pierre’s use of rich blue shades throughout the clothing.

*”It’s a continuation of colour for winter. Still a bit princessy but not pretty-pretty,” said Terry.

*”I’ve pressed beetle wing shades on top of black across the eyelids, white eyeliner on the inside of the lower lash line, with lots of MAC’s new In Extreme Dimension mascara for big eyes.

*”The face uses foundation for a flawless coverage that looks real, while I’m just using lip balm on the lips along with a little concealer to bring down the colour. It’s a bit badass.”

Love!

Being Key Make-up Artist for Elite Model/Look Magazine Grand Final Fashion Show Competition

This was the makeup look I created for the Look Magazine, Elite Model competition 2012. This look was designed for the 12 girl finalists using all Look Beauty products which myself and my amazing dream team created on all the girls.

The Look & Inspiration:

Glowing sculpted skin with a warm glow to the apples of the cheeks with strong highlights on top of the cheek bones. The eyes were a subtle matte contoured look with heavy mascara and groomed brows. The look was all focused on vampy lip! So I opted for a cherry black glossy lip which created a feminine fierce look that reflects the mood and collection of styling.

Look Beauty products used to create the look:

Base:

*Prime Perfect Primer

*Flawless Fix Foundation

*Stay Put Powder

*Make me blush in ‘Sculpt’ & ‘Rosy’

Eyes:

*Long Lasting eyeliner in ‘Coco Brown’

*Statement eyes in ‘Luxe’, ‘Satchel’, ‘Cami’ , ‘Suede’

*Lash Attack

Lips:

*Loud Lips in ‘Cherry Bomb’ Mixed with a gel black eyeliner

Clear gloss was then applied on top!

Lana Del Rey at the H&M Fall Campaign in New York!

I wanted to share this picture of Lana as I am in awe with her make-up and hair lately. Here at H&M’s VIP’s gathering in New York to celebrate a private performance by the retailer’s fall star, Lana Del Rey. Designers Prabal Gurung and Christian Siriano as well as Barbara Bush and Maggie Betts were among the VIP guests who attended the event, along with fashion industry insiders. Lana performed a variety of songs at the chic downtown venue, The Wooly, including the music superstar’s cover of “Blue Velvet,” which will be the featured song in H&M’s fall fashion campaign video. The print and commercial campaign feature the best of fall fashion, highlighting Lana wearing a pink angora blend sweater, printed leggings, a tweed biker jacket, and a figure hugging leather trimmed dress among others. I am excited for this collection to come out now.

Beauty Highlight of London Fashion Week- Spring Summer 2013 Trends

So today was the first time to breath and take in NYFW and LFW beauty trends I have seen in the last two weeks! I have rounded up the trends from NYFW >here< So in today’s post I round up the biggest and best beauty looks from the shows.

Val Garland using MAC Cosmetics kept up this season’s overarching ’90s beauty trend using the brand’s Good Genes Serum as a delicious skin treat for the models. This was followed by a slick of their Effortless Tinted Primer and the Light Liquid Foundation after that. The result? Glowy, real skin which didn’t look like it was wearing any makeup at all. Genius! The Topshop Unique models were “the girl that other girls want to be.” Hannah Murray applied two different Topshop blushers in Prime Time and Flush across the eyelid for a super-cool grungy 90s beauty look that offered a pop of bright colour against the whites and yellows of the collection.

And we see beautiful Freckles for spring summer again –they popped up backstage at Kinder Aggugini where Val Garland created beautiful, rural, Holly Hobby-esque girls who had been out fishing. “We used 2-5 different brow pencils, lip pencils and shadows to draw on chaotic, random freckles,” she explained with MAC Cosmetics .

One of my favourite shows was The Holly Fulton show! The models looked fabulous with cute balls bouncing across their nails, and those stunning bright orange two-toned lips by Andrew Gallimore got me so excited and has made me want to buy more MAC pro lip mixes to experiment with, it was great to see Wendy Rowe at Burberry played the lips up using deep berry shades in Burberry beauty Lip Velvet in Siren Red.

Finally nails… At London Fashion week they were Nailing Nudes! – “I can honestly tell you that this season’s nude nail trend is the biggest one I have seen in fifteen years,” Marion Newman mentioned backstage at Moschino Cheap and Chic, where she blended MAC nail varnishes in Cream Delicate and Faint of Heart to match individual girl’s skin tones.  “We’re aiming for seamless tips and toes,” she added.

Overall NYFW and LFW was again very inspiring for me and I have learnt so much in the last two weeks and I can’t wait to use these new techniques and trends into my own work. A huge thank you to Tumblr for making London Fashion week extra special for me!

Jonathan Saunders Spring / Summer 2013 Makeup at London Fashion Week with MAC Artist Lucia Pieroni

I am in love with this look especially as spring summer looks are much about colour so it was fantastic to see a smoky eye and deep cherry lips at the Jonathan Saunders S/S13 show at London fashion week. MAC Artist Lucia Pieroni was inspired by 70s Disco Punk. A girl with a liner worn last night and smudged now- with a perfect mouth!

Here is the MAC make-up products Lucia used to create this look:

Base:

*Mineralize Concealer- used where needed to perfect.

* Hush Cream Colourbase- blended over high points to highlight.

Eyes:

*Graph black techna kohl eyeliner- blended through the lashes and a round the eye, slightly thicker at the outer corners, and then smudged with a fingertip to create a “morning after” look with a punky feel.

* Blacktrack fluid line -painted into the root of the lashline.

* Omega, Coquette, Copperplate, Ortypo graphic eye shadows-  appropriately chosen and used to lightly fill and perfect the brow.

* Clear Brow Set- brushed through the brow to polish and groom.

Lips:

*Lip Conditioner - patted into lips to nourish and hydrate.

*Burgundy Lip Pencil- used to shape, define, and fill the entire lip.

*Clear Lipglass- applied for a glossy finish to lips.
